Product Background

Galway County Council announced on 24th July 2020 the Pilot Streetscape Enhancement Scheme for 2020.

The objective of the scheme is to improve the visual appearance of urban streetscapes, sustain existing and attract new footfall and support a reduction in commercial vacancies within town centres. This in turn will support our towns reputation as an attractive place to live, work and invest in.

1

IMPROVING FACADES

Tenants or owners of buildings (residential and non-residential) can avail of a grant towards the cost of painting and improving facades along the street which may include paint, labour, scaffold/ hoist and other materials etc. Priority will be given to full façade applications i.e. shop fronts/ground floor and overhead. Quotations from competent contractors detailing the works to be carried out including colour(s), finishes etc will be required.
2

IMPROVING SIGNAGE

Tenants or owners of buildings can avail of a grant towards the cost of replacing existing plastic, neon & printed signs etc. The improvement of existing window displays, installation of awnings and the purchase of street furniture may also be considered under this category. Tenants or owners of buildings may also apply for masonry repair or other repair and improvement works as set out below. Details of all proposed works must be submitted.

SCHEME BOUNDARY
